Powered carts

We continuously strive to provide an environment free from all harm by promoting a positive safety culture, which puts our employees and customers at the center of everything we do.
Critical points

Proper training is REQUIRED prior to operation of a powered cart.

Carts MUST be inspected before every shift for working order and defects. Please make any defects and notify a supervisor. Carts that are not safe to operate MUST be tagged and taken out of operation.

Pedestrians always have the right of way.

Operators MUST obey the 5 MPH rule.

Earbuds, headphones, and portable speakers are not allowed.

Cell phone and radio use is strictly prohibited while operating. Pull over to have your conversation.​

Key points​​

Know your surrounding at all times, make eye contact with pedestrians in your path, and communicate when needed.

Only carry as many passengers as the cart manufacturer allows.

Never push / pull anything with your arms / hands as you operate the cart.

Carts should only be used in authorized areas and for a business need.

When refueling a gas powered cart, make sure you use the proper fuel (diesel, regular) and proper PPE if needed (eye and hand protection).

Horseplay on a cart is never allowed and can result in a loss of operating privileges.

Report any incidents to your supervisor as soon as they happen.

Never operate a cart in a manner that is against Freeman policy or if it is unsafe.
